today :: peaceful and happy

A yummy surprise when arriving home from school.......vanilla cupcakes with raspberry cream cheese icing.......divine.

After licking our lips we headed for a walk to the park to compensate for our indulgence.

Naturally there was no way we could leave the house without three sets of beads, or in this case a bike lock, a dog tag and some shiny turquoise beads from mama.

Boy two had to be prized off the giant slide at the park by boy one and carried to safety.

Little Belle feels grass on her feet for the first time and is mesmerised.

The boys play soccer.  A slight obstacle to a successful game is that boy two is still thinking about the giant slide and going the wrong way.

Annabelle is still loving the grass.  She even got up on her knees into crawling position and  bunny hopped across the grass.  YAY.....she is amazingly strong and I just love her to bits.  She does this cute little thing at the moment where she sucks her lips and smiles........it is adorable.  Her first tooth is starting to pop through today.  She is a big girl now.

the fast and the furious

I think a new stage of busyness has hit the household.  Boy two has become so capable and independent and the whole house is suffering.  He can reach into so many new places, touch the microwave, open the fridge, open the gate, put on his shoes, take off his pajama's.

He does all of these things at the wrong time, such as taking pj's off before bed and running around with just a nappy on rather than in the morning before getting dressed.

At around 4pm each day he methodically works the room for an angle to find mischief.  It is such a test of patience or stark realisation that I have to gain some.   Just as I am about to call the men in white coats to take me for a holiday, he comes up yelling mummeee,  tilts his chin to his chest and looks up and asks me for a kisssshhhh.  His charm is so deceptive.

We try to keep him amused by letting him help, as above when cleaning up after dinner.  He says very cheefully, "wipe, wipe, wipe".  It is all rather fun when you are 1.5 but takes a very long time.

He needs to cart as many bags as possible everywhere he goes and  a mild state of panic erupts if even one is missing.  There are five in total at present.

He is, shall I say, obsessed with fashion.  He loves nothing better than to put on my beads, shoes and bags and then admiringly say "whoot whoo" to himself and make sure I am in agreement.

He then likes me to do the same and tries to convince me of a good reason to get in the car and go out.  I guess it was inevitable, I love a good excuse to go out and about.

He has also become very fond of froggie who is the new companion of choice.  He goes with him outside, to the shops, to school and always to bed with him.  It's rather cute but a bit of a rigmarole at daycare when he needs froggie, blankie and his sleeping bag.  Luckily they are such lovely carers and very accommodating.

This too shall pass and I will no doubt pine for they days when my babies were babies.  Today it just feels busy on all fronts.

BLOG H.Q.

This is the view from blog headquarters.  It is actually quite lovely to be able to enjoy the sun on the deck or type from the kitchen table whilst peeking out at this lovely view.  That is one of the wonderful things about Hobart, just about everywhere has a view of the river.  Our other house at the beginnings of the D'entrecasteaux Channel would possibly be one of the few exceptions!

No recent posts does not equal no recent news and events.  My old "bitza" pc finally has made the grave.
This caused me slight heart palpitations when unable to connect to the cyber world (which for a mother of two babies whose world revolves around home and sleep routines) is the world.  I was offline for a while so have much to share soon.

There was however an upside, this "forced" me to upgrade the technology at blog HQ to include a very shiny and lovely new macbook.

I have since realised just how bad our old pc was.  There are so many little helpful things that mac does for me.  Most computers from the last decade probably do, I guess.  I love, love, love my new computer and feel just a little bit more tech savvy since it's arrival on the kitchen table.

Felix sneaks up close beside me and carefully works his fingers under my arm.  With a mischievious grin he whispers "beep, beep, beep" which is slightly frustrating but when I have had enough sleep, quite adorable.  I really prefer the white sleek cover of the mac as opposed to vegemite fingerprints.  It amazed me to think what the world will be like for him coming from this generation who know nothing else but technology.

So anyhow, expect many more updates.  Any excuse to play with my new toy.
